Halloween is on its way

I can't believe that it is the end of September already. I am loving the fall, and shopping for Halloween decorations for my new place. I have my mums out and finally have grass so it is finally looking like a "home". Someone reminded me that it is just less than 3 months to Christmas. I love this time of year! I love designing holiday cards. This is a very busy time of year for me and I love hearing back from past customers and seeing how their family has changed over the past year. I have completed a good number of designs and have more in the works.

I have also created some cute Halloween cards for those that love showing off their beautiful kids and love Halloween! Here are a few samples:

The Magic Box!

I don't know what it is about this box but kids LOVE it!

Miss E won't even put it down to play.

Well it is empty now so I must get another one of these wonderful magic raisin boxes to keep her happy. At least raisins are a healthy snack!

Printers

I have dealt with my fair share of press printer issues over the last year and I am happy to say that I have finally made a switch that I am so impressed with. Their quality is top notch. I am just looking forward to no longer dealing with poor quality that I could never send to my customers.

So because of the switch some pricing has changed, but trust me, it is worth it! We have added new sizes and new quantities. The press printed cards now come in packs of 25 cards. The bonus with these cards is the price includes printing on all sides. So the Post Card is double sided, no extra charge and the Folded Note Cards have the option of colour printing a personal message and/or extra photos on the inside.

Thank goodness the girls who take care of me and my photo cards are the best. I have had 2 problems in the 3 years I have been using that lab and it was the online system and not them - thanks girls you are the best!!

Fash the Dress: Cool idea for after your wedding

I know these amazing photographers who's blog I visit often, I just love to see what they have been up to. Well I noticed this post a while ago tagged "Fash the Dress" and loved the idea. I have seen many "trash the dress" shoots but what if you love your beautiful gown too much to do that. Typical me thinks of the cost, wedding dresses are not cheap! What about my baby girl. She might grow up one day and like to try on my wedding dress like I did with my moms. Well with Fash the Dress you get to keep your perfect dress perfect but still have fun - who could ask for more?!

I know I was sad how fast my wedding day went by. I felt like I was rushed through so many things. I had to stuff my face with the delicious appetizers in between shots. I loved the photos I got but I wish that I could have had a lot more time. I loved my dress (yes back then it was a beautiful gown!) and would have loved to have enjoyed it more. Instead it is hanging in my closet still in its bag from my wedding night, never cleaned, covered in black around the bottom. Sad I know. I would love to do a "Fash the Dress", without my dirty 1990's wedding dress that I could not do up if I wanted to thanks to the 10 extra pounds still left over from my beautiful babies. It is just not worth a fashion shoot.

Now I do see many beautiful gowns in the windows of bridal salons that I would love to try on. But my husband always gives me a funny look when I tell him that! So for now I share this great idea with my readers. If you are getting married you should contact Dave and Charlotte so you can Fash your Dress!!

Please promise not to laugh at me in all my 1990's style... forgive me it was a while ago! At least I look good. But then again I look like I am 16, I promise I was not married at 16.

So here is a picture of me...

Off to school!

So my little boy was off to his first day of school. I think I realized he was not so little anymore just before his 4th birthday last week. I always sneak into his room at night to check on him before I go to bed, I love to look at his sweet sleeping self. Gosh most days that is the only time he is quiet like that! I stare at his face, it isn't baby anymore. I remember a neighbour friend telling me about how she woke up one morning and her little guy was a "boy". He lost all that babyness about him, his body was tall and thin, there was no baby fat left or belly bulge that babies always have, and his face was so grown up. Well I totally understand what she was talking about now because that has happened here too! Am I sad about it? YES... but I am also happy. I love seeing how smart and independent he is becoming.
Miss E and I sit here this morning sad. We miss him! She is lost without him, it happens every time he goes to stay at Hamma's house. As a baby he couldn't say Grandma so he said Hamma and she love it - so it stuck! I am excited that I finally have time back to focus on business, it was really hard over the summer with both kids at home. Keeping them happy and me from going crazy was all I could do most days! But it isn't the same now. At least I get to pick him up in an hour, thankfully he only goes in the morning. Oh and please remind me of this post when I complain later about my crazy afternoons!
My beautiful son - a 4 year old "little boy" who just started school. A little crazy, a little sweet, a typical boy!

and the typical back to school shot in the car!
